Welcome To The Red George Public House
The Red George is an English/Scottish/Irish style pub intended to provide a clean, enjoyable facility which can be frequented by family and friends as well as tourists. A quiet and peaceful atmosphere creates the perfect environment to drop in for friendly discussions and post-dive, post-sailing or post-theatre drinks. The pub can also host small meetings for local organizations or for small tour groups. Our design takes advantage of the great heritage building in which it is located as well the spectacular river location.
The name, The Red George Pub, comes from Lt. Col. George Macdonell whose nickname was Red George. Red George was the Commanding Officer of the Glengarry Light Infantry Regiment, and the man that defied orders and led the historic Capture of Ogdensburg during the War of 1812.
